About Me

I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2020 with a BSc in Chemistry, where my research project focused on nanospheres for the treatment of wastewater. After taking a year out, I completed a part-time MSc in Chemistry, also at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 2023 with a distinction. My master’s project involved studying Layer-by-Layer polymer shells around gold nanoparticles for use in cancer treatments. Now, I’m a PhD student in the McDonald group, focusing on the production of realistic nanoplastics to improve environmental understanding. My research also examines the effects of exposure to micro- and nano-plastics on the life history of Daphnia in both rural and urban environments.
